My name is Ken Rowe.
I formed this group at the behest of a few others primarily to fill the vacuum of likeminded organizations in the region. Our choices were to travel south to Lakewood, or North to Ft Collins in order to actively participate in a club.

I have taken the time to create the legal entity with the secretary of state, document and ID number 20268019546. (Not free)

I have taken the time to create both a Facebook presence (Free) as well as an internet presence in the form of a PHPBB forums and discussion area. (Not free)

I have designed and published the forums so that members can interact, club news can be shared, and events can be scheduled. It is my intention to have a guest speaker every quarterly meeting who will speak on a wide array of topics with geology as a base.

I have been in touch with other clubs so they know we are here, and am actively trying to grow our membership base.

With these thoughts in mind, I hope you will have a fun time here, participate to the fullest of your abilities as well as help others along the way. Remember, we all start from somewhere, we all came from somewhere but we are united in our love of the study of these rocks that we collect, no matter the reason that we do it.

I myself always had a passing fancy of geology, my point of reference being physics and astronomy. And I have always collected rocks, some I've had since I was in my 20's and always thought of them as just being cool to look at. Never really studying on how they formed or how they got to where I found them.

So, welcome aboard, thanks for your shared interests and hope to see you in the club and on field trips and everything else.
